Well I know that I don't have to floor it to get my truck up to 80, and it is stock. There may be some type of problem there.

Did you notice any extra smoke? Most common issue to rise up regarding power loss is either a boost leak or some type of exhaust leak. Normally there's some additional smoke involved out the tailpipe too.

When I first test drove my truck, it wasn't as powerful as some of the others I drove. She had been sitting in a garage for 10 + months. The motor sounded healthy and she was maintained very well so I went ahead and purchased her... about a week after purchase I had to refuel and I basically slid out of that gas station sideways, a plum of black smoke for blocks. I think my rubber tracks are still scarring the blacktop. She just had old fuel. After I realized this I performed an oil change and changed out the fuel filter and noticed even more of a power increase. Just a thought.

However, a PSD that will barely reach 80 MPH seems pretty serious. A healthy stock PSD will outperfrom a gas superduty anyday...so I don't think you are "spoiled" by driving a gasser. My better half drives an '05 F250 gasser for a work truck and I can barely stand to be in that thing its such a puke.

I think you need to go test drive some different PSD's to get an idea.

My 01' F250 towed my 7500lbs trailer through hilly upstate NY in stock form without much fuss (came from a 96 w/ a supertuner). Although I haven't towed it since my upgrades and I might just have to take it out and see the difference.

I would drive another one. My stock 7.3 runs good at low speeds and great at highway speeds. When the turbo kicks in, she is ready to roll down the road with any gasser.
