I was gonna adjust my wastegate rod for more boost and put my wastegate back functional with vacuum. Well the rod didn't wanna adjust so I put a little tension on it and it snapped! Does anyone have a good used one they would sell me? I can Paypal immediately!

BTW, what can I do to get the truck home? Ziptie the wastegate shut?

It gets pretty hot back there Idon't think zipties would work. I would use some kind of heavy wire like a coat hanger just to get you home.

Are you able to tap any existing rod and thread sleeve it and extend with all thread? Or you could do a Banks Big Head

Well guys it's amazing what a man can do when he thinks he won't get his truck home, lol. The rod broke right at the female adjustment portion, so I drilled it out, stuck the rod in a little and drilled a hole through both parts and put a cotter pin through the hole and it seems to be good to go, I just installed it on the truck and about to head home, wish me luck.

Good Luck!
Question for the gurus: Why cont you drive it temporarily without the rod? Wouldent it act like the "Wastegate Mod" where you disconnect the red hose?

the spring in the actuator is what holds the wastegate shut, without it attached it would just flop and blow open without making boost

Well the truck makes 25psi at WOT from a 2nd gear kick, then when it shifts into 3rd it peaks and holds at 27-28psi. Working good so far!

I have the whole stock wastegate off of mine. You are welcome to it if you still need one. It's as cheap as it gets- $0.00

Way to step up, Kevin. Rep points given.

BTW, you're where I need to be. I grew up in SW FL and miss it badly. I lived in North Tampa for a while, too (near Waters & Sheldon, if you know where that is).

Thanks Joe. I'd rather help someone than make a dollar.

I'm in Lakeland and know the area you mentioned in Tampa. My SD is used often to tow a 2200# flats boat 370 miles round trip to Everglades City. It's a little overkill, but she sure is fun to drive...

Kevin, I'd like to get that actuator if possible, I'm not sure this setup I made will last. If you have Paypal just PM me and email address and how much I owe you.

My shipping address is:
Mark Sexton

Dalton, GA 30720

thanks again

Mark

I'd offer my spare to you as well, but I was beaten to the punch. This community is continually stepping up and coming through! Rep points given as well!

Man, I miss it there. My brother & folks have a boat on salt water access, and it just sucks being landlocked in Dallas. LOL...
