ron01sd, is there a spring in between the U-Joints on the T-Case side of the driveshaft? I have heard that you need to have a press to get those two back together! What did you do?
The part in the double CV is called a "Ball Kit", It comes apart a little hard . When I took mine apart I realized they gave me the wrong kit. I looked at it real well, and ended up just cleaning it, and regreasing it. Its working fine. The wrong ball kit cost me $23, the right one shouldn't reallly be any more money.

Thanks for the info. I tried to get the ball kit when I got my U-Joints, but they said they didn't carry it. Is it really that important? Should I go to the Ford dealer?

If yours is in bad shape I would replace it. I greased mine a year ago, and when I took it apart a couple of weeks ago it looked fine, so I reused it. I was at a Merles here in town they carried them. I would think Nappa would. I was told there are several types and not sure what years. Might be easier to remove it and take it to Ford to get the right one. Plus you won't know if you need it until you remove/examine it.
