Chip question for noob
My father has a 2005 F-250 6.0 Diesel and he is looking at installing a tuner chip. He is asking me what I would recommend, I have no idea. I believe he wants something simple that would add a little power and improve gas mileage. Any recommendations????

if he wants something that comes with gauges then he could look into edge, bully dog or banks but if he doesn't want gauges and wants to do whats best for his truck than an sct xcal3 with custom tunes for his truck's strategy. It is my opinion that you don't need gauges if just running an economy tune or even a street tune. But if towing or racing then gauges should be installed on a stock truck. good luck.

Another vote for SCT from Spartan Diesel. Matt has provided me with great customer service.... Though, you'll be hard pressed to get any better "gas" milage out of a diesel! Some are reporting 1-2 mpg improvement when it comes to fuel consumption.... Check out:

I got a 05 Kingranch and wanted something simple that works and wont let me mess with the settings. It sets at 75hp gain and 105hp gain, in the summer i usually leave on 105, in winter i leave on 75. Oh and the main reason i bought the VanAAken modual, it wont leave a footprint when you take it out for warranty! it takes 3mins to take out and reinstall. If your interested call DSG Saskatoon diesel speak to Trent.

well VanAAken wont, it will show there has been some higher exhuast gasses or small things like, all i can tell you.

lol they all leave foot prints. sct is probably the hardest one to detect...from what I've read.
