Hey posted a question about an hour ago on the mounts for my 2-wheel drive truck,it has a 351m in it and i have the 460 i would like to get in it,i've checked a couple of posts on the board on this same matter but they all where concerning 4wheel drives is this the same set up or can i just get the conversion motor mounts and use the same frame mounts that came on the 351m the 460 is out of a linclon 1975 and the motor mounts are different,i can get the motor mounts but not the frame mounts, can the others be used?
Just a suggestion, may not help. I just put a 460 from a 77 Lincoln in my 1980 F100 2WD. We took the Lincoln mount and split off the rubber section and was left with a metal piece that fit perfectly. The down side is that you will get engine vibration through the frame, but my truck is noisy enough that I don't notice the engine noise. The up side is that you will never break a motor mount. Hope this helps.
The 2wd frame has a crossmember that the mounts go on the 4wd has frame perches as the crossmember would hit the diff. I know hooker does sell 460 conversion mounts for a 460. Also assuming your truck is a 73-79 you could get factory mounts from the dealer or junkyard since the 2wds were the only ones to come with 460s in the 70s.
best bet is to go to your local junk yard and get the engine mount/frame stand setup from a truck that allready has a 460 in it. These trucks are plentiful, and this is also cheaper than goin for an aftermarker setup. Good luck!!
