your not kidding. Why did ford build them where you have to replace the arms. Every things else i have ever looked at they they are all threaded.
The gear box had just a tinny bit of slope in it but i think it is normal but not sure. when the gear box was on the work bench with the pitman arm on i could move the input shaft with pliars easially but i couldn't move the output. I'm guessing this is nornmal or do i need to rebuild the gear box?
I got mine at NAPA and I think they were $187.00 for all 4. I lined it up by eye and took it to be aligned. The alignment guy said these trucks pull if the bushings are worn, but it would not wear the tires, so I had him replace the bushings too, which ran around $40.00 I think.
I have found that I come out better on prices when I shop in small towns. It sounds crazy, but the small NAPA I buy from always seems to give me a good price.
