BAD Block Heater???

BAD Block Heater???

Well my block heater is not working, i have tried two different extension cords and two different outlets (non-GFI), can i just replace the cord that runs to the block or would it be sumthing else wrong????? thank you

Ussually its the plug connection that gets corroded or the plug itself, start there and work your way back checking for cracks and such. If its the plug, you can spice another one in its place.

OK Thanks for the help, i will look at it 2mrow, if i do have to get a new one should i just go to Ford or does sumone else sell them??

Just get a replacement three prong plug from Home Depot or Lowes. cut and splice. They usually crack right behind the OEM plug.

Just your regular hardware store or Home-Depot or Lowes, make sure you get one rated for that type cord, not sure what the voltage rating is off hand for that cord but somebody will be by to tell you..^^what Chris said above.

I bought a whole new aftermarket cord for $14.00 at Napa.(I think)

Probably 16 gauge wire should be heavy enough.
