I like the interior (except the ****er for some reason ), I like the new tranny, dont care about the gas HP #'s, I want to see the stats on the non existant diesel. I just bought a used expy to tide me over for 2 years, if the diesel isnt there (and adequate) by then I think I'm going to buy my first ch.. ch.. che.. chevy.
Hey I am not very familiar with theses cap less fuel fillers. I do a lot of off road driving and on occasion the fuel cap does get dirty, so now do we push the dirt in the tank when we fill up? Prior the dirt got removed with the cap. From the pictures these cap less fillers look like a cup to catch all crap I don't want in my tank.
I really like it, i think they basically made the 04-08 model over but made it look a little better and actually listenend to all of the critiques of the previous model and then implemented the suggestions into the new one...Nice....
I think the truck looks and sounds GREAT!! Thinks I have been very impressed with so far are:
1) rear diff locker-FINALLY!!
2) factory headers
3) they kept the deep box
4) factory bed mgmt system
5) 6 speed tranny
6) back up camera
7) refined interior-I feel when people see it inside it won't seem too busy like folks are worried about now
8) Sony audio system-Ford finally went with a big-time company!
9) sat. radio, sync and all the other bells/whistles the others had
10) and finally it still looks flippn' tough like a truck should!!
I have no doubt Ford has hit a monster home run with this truck. I have been reading so much negative stuff about the engine issue (torque/hp) but I am not worried about this. I wanted refinement, reliability and better fit/finish first and foremost with this truck. I believe Ford has done this even without sitting in it yet. I feel Ford will not dissapoint with the engines to come. We all had to know the 6.2 and diesel were not going to quite be ready for this launch. However, I feel Ford could not afford to wait any longer especially with the others having new models. I really feel the current 5.4 could be just fine in this truck but I will admit some more hp/torque will help it be unstoppable. All of us with these current generation trucks have to admit that they are great trucks. The 2009's were never told to be a complete redesign and I'm glad they kept many of the current things. Afterall, all the others made the 2004's their target and here we are only breifly into 2008 with a really worked over truck. Years ago a redesign this soon would have been unheard of? I am not worried and I hope those of you fellow Ford owners do not seriously jump to another manufacturer until all the facts are out and you at least drive the new 2009's.
I do a lot of wood cutting and I really like the deeper box for stacking the wood. Secondly, I know it is a cosmetic thing but I feel the deeper box makes the truck look MUCH better than the competition. To me this has been a huge selling point since the 2004's came out. I know not all of you like it but I have and always will love it. Also, I'm not tall by any means, 6ft and I have no problems reaching into the box. Plus now the truck has the box step and handle the Super Dutys have.

This was my first thought as well. I don't see why it is so hard to remove a cap! Hopefully if our thinking is correct that the dirt is going to get into the tank, somebody will find an easy way to install a cap on filler.

You don't think they just threw it on there without checking or taking precautions for this do you?
One of the reasons for the cap less fuel filler is warranty cost. How many people don't tighten their gas caps and set a Check Engine Light?
We were told they were going to rework the 5.4 Engine to offer more HP and fuel efficiency.
I see the 6 speed tranny is rated to give 1 MPG better than the previous tranny.
Did anyone else see this in the specs?
I hope they can somehow figure out a way to improve the old tired engine for efficiency.
I still say it was a major mistake to debut this new truck without a super improved power plant.
It's one thing to have the worst HP ratings but to have the worst MPG too is not a good thing.
8) Sony audio system-Ford finally went with a big-time company!
Sony designed most of the Mach460 system in the 94-04 stangs. Let me tell you that was the biggest pile of junk stereo they ever put into a car... 1 deck 3 amps and 8 speakers (no tweeters), great system indeed...
the truck is the best looking ever, fords always look better. you guys cry about power, this and that, the Ford F-150 hauls better than anything around it, and everybody knows that, any day, the 2004 Hemi only Dynoed 248 HP, and they just plain suck, its not even a real Hemi anyways, blah blah, The new Ram sucks. the Ford looks sick. should make the other trucks, History. they are top seller 31 years in US and 26 in Canada. ....... Ford makes a truck, always the best.
I will out tow any chevy, with my 4.2L, bring on your Hemi.
