73-- 429 torque specs

I need to know where to find the torque for the heads, rod bearings,and main bearings. I also need to check to see if I have the correct 429 heads or 460.

Hey Jack, hate to sound like a hardass but you really should buy a book that deals with doing internal engine work. There is much more than just torquing down bolts when it comes to building an engine, I know I have built a few. As far as the heads go, if you post the casting number I am sure someone can nail down their origin. It will probably start with a C or D.

Nick's right, the sequence of tightening those bolts is every bit as important as the torque values. A book will also give you the other torque values and tightening sequences for your engine, the intake manifold being especially important.
