Quick HDTV question

I have two hd flat screen tv,s One is a 19" sanyo 6 mths old and the other is a 32" Polaroid 2 days old. When i set up the first one and scanned for digital channels it found 16. When i scanned on the new one it found 68. FYI I have cable. Now, why would one find more than the other. Just curious.....

Did you scan at the same time?

Could be that the second one picked up sub channels like 12 and 12-1.

This is just a guess.

one may be set to "antenna" as the tuner

the other may be set to "cable"

I'll bet that your "older" set only has an NTSC/ATSC tuner while the newer one has both of those plus a QAM tuner.

Yeah I think thats what it is, different tuners. One gets the sub chanels the other don't. Not that I need them anyway. I guess thats why the Sanyo was so cheap. We only bought it to save a little space in the bedroom. Thanks guys.
