I say this because my early 70's Sony is drifting off the Discovery Channel a little bit. I have to use a converter to get all the cable channels. It only has 2 to 13 VHF and UHF. The picture tube is still good.
I have no idea how old my TV's are......I know one of them doesnt have RCA jacks. Dates it back a little.....but not so far as to needing a converter.
27" in the living room, 25" in the bedroom, 19" in second bedroom, 19" in third bedroom.
Doesn't have a born on date, like some beers I have heard of. Guess I'll have to saw it in half and count the rings. The oldest one we had which my mother is now using was purchased in 1984. The current one was purchased in the late 90's. Right before the flat screen invasion.
The living room TV is about 2 years old, maybe 3. My bedroom TV is about the same vintage. The kids TV is 5-6 years old. My old living room TV is 14 years old and still going strong at the mission house that we gave it to.
My 32" tv is 3 years old. My 27" tv is 2 years old. I also have a 13" tv that is about 5 years old. But, it is not hooked up because we don't have cable tv or satellite.
We have a 27" Fisher TV in our den that I paid $1350.00 for in 1984 I bought it right before the Chicago Bears killed the N.E. Patriots in the Super Bowl

We have some ancient TV around our house. The living room one is 3 years old, which replaced one 20 years old, the one on our patio is probably 20 or older, family room 10 years, and the one my dad uses for playstation is 30 or 40 years old believe it or not. Color isn't very good anymore, but it is amazing.
Let's see... Hmm...
1) 27 yrs old
2)33 yrs old
3) 12 yrs old
4)7 Yrs old
5) 1 Yr old
Also, I have a calculator from the 50's (I think) that is 5 circut boards about 8x12 with 8 vaccum tubes for the display #'s and a dial to input said numbers in calc. Don't know if it works cause I have no idea what power supply goes with it, but it's neat and folds like an accordian. I love history!
The one in the living room was bought about 7 yrs ago, it replaced one my mom had bought in the early 80's and gave to me when I moved out. The one in my bedroom is about 2 yrs old
I just bought a 36" Toshiba HDTV to replace the 10-yr-old Sanyo 19" that's now in my bedroom, replacing the 1-yr-old Westinghouse 13" that's now on loan to my brother-in-law (which means I'll never see it again). In 1973 my folks bought a 19" Magnavox, that TV lasted over 20 years. -TD
