airing down
just switched to BFG T/A KO's on my 08' FX4, as you guys probably know I had to go up to 285 65 18's(load range "E") as they don't make a stock size yet??, I kept the OEM FX4 rims, I'm running around 55 psi all 'round for gas mileage, yeah, a bit rough, but it's a truck right? :-)
Anything to be concerned about airing down to 20 psi on the sand?, I surf fish alot and this size BFG tire is spec'd for a 8 - 10" rim, our OEM rims are 7.5".
thanks

20 lbs will be no problem at all. When I was running stock rubber on the SD (brand new, no lift yet) and went to Glamis, I would air down to 12 to 15 lbs with no troubles at all.
Matter of fact, even with larger tires now, I often see pressure around 10 psi when I run around in the sand. I never get so aggressive that I am concerned about busting a bead, nor has it happened (yet) , and the advantages of a tire with reduced air pressures in the sand are night and day.
