Soot in the valley

I seemed to have alot and I mean alot of soot in the valley. Its only in the valley. The uppipes are clean and all the boots are tight(dieselsite boots kits on the way) I am just concerned that it might be the exhaust manifolds leaking but I don't see how that could reach the valley.

Use a mirror and very strong flashlight. Check to make sure that there are 4 bolts in the center section of the turbo. They can loosen and fall out. Heck, you might even find one in the valley. The only other thing that I can think of that resembles soot is the blowby gases that escape around the intercooler boots. This can dry over time and resemble soot. Then check the donut camp on the back of the turbo to make sure it is tight. Do not overtighten it but just make sure it did not loosen. I double nutted mine becuase it always like to work loose.

Thanks Tim I will do a little further checking on the turbo bolts.
