new here, few ?s

Hey guys hows it going? My brother just bought a 2004 F150. 5.4L 3V. Im a Chevy guy and don't know much about Fords. Can anyone tell me what axle ratios were available in 04. Its a 2wd drive, automatic. Also can anyone tell me what transmission these trucks use?

The most popular axle ratio's are the 3.55 and the 3.73. There were also the 3.31 and 4.10 gears available. the tranny used is likely the 4R74E four speed auto. Hope this helps you, and hope your brother turns you on to Ford!!!

Hopefully the owners manual is in the glove box. In the back of the manual is the info to translate the codes on the drivers door sticker. This will tell you the axle ratio, tranny, etc.
