Snow trip

Anybody or groups planning on a snow run in the near future? Would like to meet other Ford enthusists and have a fun day in the snow. Would be more interested in a family type outing (wife and kids).

Tom,

That is a great idea. Let's think about location, time and activities. Any suggestions anyone? I think sledding is always fun.

Thanks for posting your idea.

Karl

PS- Tom, we have another member from Denair. His name is Josh and his FTE name is Breech.

We have any skiers in the group? I haven't been for years but would like to see if I can still muster the energy to slide down the hill with two sticks strapped to my feet!

I get scared just looking at the bunny-slope.

I do both cross-country and down hill skiing. Growing up in Montana, you had to figure out something to do after hunting season and before fly fishing in the spring or you would go crazy.

I do ok on the slopes, as long as I keep to the mildly intermediate slopes that is. Kirkwood is just up the road from my house, and I can probably get a decent deal on a couple lift tickets from where I work. Might be able to get as many as 4, but don't know for sure if I can get that many. The limit may only be 2 tickets. But I'll check it out, if interested. The last I heard, they were two day passes, for cheap.

Funny, I lived in Tahoe for six years and skied every area on the northern part of the basin including Donner and Donner and Mt. Rose but I neer tried anything on the south side of the lake. I'd certainly be up for giving Kirkwood a shot. Do they have any good snow play areas for non-skiers?

Kirkwood has both X-country and down hill. NOt sure about snow play parks for sleds and such.

I fall down alot.

This may be because I prefer to go skiing when it is 70 degrees or above and the the slopes are pretty icy. I left Nebraska because I don't like the cold. I'm getting ready to head down to Mexico in a few weeks.

Oh Chet, I wish I could go with you...
But anyway, since I can't, I'll check on the lift ticket availability to see what the limitations are. I head in to work tomorrow so I can check then. Let you know as soon as I find out.

P.S. Chet, I fall down allot too. It would be nice to have someone else around to take some of the attention off of me. It's kind of embarrassing when I'm the only cluts.

You should see me try to snowboard then... I tried it once and spent most of the time on my *** so I gave it up and went back to skis!

I was pretty good back in the day, even thought about trying out for the ski team back in high school but I didn't really like the coach much. It amazes me when I think back on how much I enjoyed it and then just suddenly stopped going, haven't been on 'em for more than 10 years.

OK Dan, then you can't use skis. Only snowboarding for you...
Just kidding. Hey, maybe you can give me some pointers?

Snow trip

I was thinking more along the lines of 4-wheeling, not skiing or sledding. There has to be some trails available to large trucks to play.

Could maybe do that too...why not an all-in-one weekend type thing...?
