Well...let me toss this out there..

My Father inlaw lives in North Shore...in Kings Beach, and the place next to his rents out quite a bit...but seems he can get a deal on the place since he "care takes" it for the guy...if you guys/gals want me to look into it I can do that, me and the tribe are probably due for a trio to see GrandPa anyways.

The Carson Valley Inn in Minden has some decent packages for ski & stay.

I did one a few years ago and went to Kirkwood on a snow day. Poor girl with me skied way better then me and had to keep waiting . We had a great time after hours though .

Carson Valley Inn is the favorite casino type hang out for the wife and I. Not one of those big casinos, but more of a comfy little place with good access to good places.
The RV park area they have is nice too. With a $22 RV site, you also get access to the indoor pool, two hot tubs, and $10 for each person staying at the rv park. For me and the wife, we get the $20 slot play, and a couple of drink tokes. That breaks us even on an overnight stay.
They offer live music too, in the caberet lounge. Sometimes we'll just load up the travel trailer and head down there for a short get away. It's only 25, or so, miles down the hill, but we don't have to worry about driving home after a couple of totties.
Kirkwood is probably less than an hour away, and Heavenly Valley Ski Resort is even allot closer.
Rich, what kind of a deal does CVI offer on a ski package? I didn't get a chance to check into the ski package I can get, yet, but will check when I get to work tomorrow.

You know, it's been a long time since that foray, but the package was real reasonable for 2 nights and 2 Kirkwood passes, a couple hundered then, but that was like 96 or 97. I haven't been there since, wife doesn't ski, I'm too fat and it just hasn't crossed the mind to go there.

Looking at the website I don't find the kind of package I did, but there's sun - wed room packages for 55$ and $90 @ Kirkwood for lift tickets. So I guess that it might take a call to them to see if they are dong anything with Kirkwood anymore.

I have not been in the snow since '92. Would love to go, but don't have a 4x4 (yet) and it is a bit far for me at the moment. The Ranger should be here about the middle of March but it will not be in any shape to go four wheeling for a couple of months at least. Snow will have melted by then...

Oooooh man, if you've gotta hankerin to see the snow, there sure is allot of it now. Let me tell ya.
Finally a winter that is worth calling winter.
Just in case anyone is interested in ski lift tickets, how does $20 sound for a day? I think I can get up to 4 tickets, but that depends on availability at the time of choosing. On week days, it would be easier to lock them in.
