battery drain

My buddy has a '97 4.0. The Batt will not hold a charge. He has a new ALT, Starter, Ignition switch, and battery. It jumps fine, and runs great. After being shut off for about 4 hours the BATT is about 8 volts. He put a meter between the cable and battery to check the draw but saw none. He pulled every fuse out of the car, even the high amp ones under the hood. The reading on the meter never changed. What do you think he should attempt next?
Any ideas? Any assistance is appreciated.

charge the battery up good. then try to start the truck. shut off, pull the positive battery cable off and let the truck set 6 hours. put the cable back on and try to start. if the battery is dead, it is no good. if the truck starts, you have a electrical leak somewhere running the battery down.
