(water pump removal) Left hand or right hand thread
Good Morning,
I'm from the bottom of the food chain of our small trucks board Aerostar's. I have a friend with a 1997 302 V-8 Mercury Mountaineer that I'm changing the water pump on tomorrow. Like the Aero's-are these with the "RIGHT-HAND THREAD'S" on removing the fan as well? Simply put, do I have to go at it in the tightening direction to remove it? My Aero is like this and alot of people end up busting the area and never relize it before its too late.--Thank you Boz

5.0B2-----Thanks so much for your help. It ended up being right hand after all. I was concerned-but-heck-it is exactly the same size wrench even as the Aerostar (4.0 V-6) for the rental clutch nut removal tool. Auto Zone has a rentable kit that has just 2 wrenches (stamped on flat steel painted black).-Boz
