Hard to believe yours didn't rust at all.. mine are rusted and all, they just still work fine and dandy. There's alot of condensation from the engine itself to cause rust, not just salt.

The have like light surface rust, but thats it. Yea i got to change them as everyone knows the drivers side one hits my trans pan, wierd. It wouldnt hit if I had the 2wd trans pan. I got a bunch of junk E4OD parts of ebay to change a bent shifter spool valve. He send pan, its alot shorter then mine. So if I was to use it my prob would be gone, but then id lose the added fluid from the bigger 4x4 pan. Ill fig it out 1 day lol.
