I want to put new manual hubs on my 87 150. They look wierd to me. I dont think the warns I looked at today will fit,am I stuck with the stock type hubs, or are there aftermarket ones for an 87 f150. By the way, I dont have automatic ones. Thanks Todd.
You probably have a flange mount hub system. I think they used those in like 86-88. Its got like a black plastic/composite base to the hub assembly itself. Just something goofy ford did. I dont know much about 80s trucks maybe someone knows exactly why. If not the same warn hub fits F150s from like the 60s all the way to 96 IIRC
hope that helps
Yeah, thats what it is I think. The hub goes on the lugnuts kinda looks like this
_[ ]_ Thats the best I could come up with LOL. Is there a way to convert them? Thanks.
Yeah you could do what bloodhound said if you REALLY dont want those style hubs. I dont think they are a problem though. Easy to get and just a little more expensive than the standard 60-96 hubs. All in all the hubs can be bought cheaper than the hubs and rotors together.
Jeff's Bronco Graveyard has the parts you need to convert to "normal' hubs and rotors. But as stated, it's cheaper to find a used front TTB axle to swap the parts from. Only 87 and part of 88 model 4x4's have that weird set-up like yours, JSM84
I'd be ok with new hubs like I have now, But where can I get them? I just put new rotors on a year & a 1/2 ago or 5000 miles ago so I really wont be getting new ones anytime soon. Think napa would carry them, or is it a ford only deal? Thanks for you help.
