fish in my 97 I put 2, 6" 100W lights behind my grill. I ran a power wire off the + terminal on the battery, put an inline fuse, ran the wire to a switch in the gap w/ my stereo, grounded the wire, ran the line from the switch to the lights grounded the lights, been good for about 1.5 years so far no problems.

didnt like the switch in the middle, autoparts store sells a little thermometer that fits in there perfect & covers up the hole.

Don't know if you want to go that route, its just what i did b/c it seemed easiest to me.

Right on! Thanks Zman that sounds pretty simple to me. I'm debating on where to put the lights. 1st choice is either side of the front license in the valance-just some little 4"x2" lights. 2nd choice behind the grill 5" Hella's. I just put a bolt over billet grill on so the Hella's would have to shine throught the honeycomb and the billet grill.. Funny looking at your pics, I have those little red air fresheners in my truck too.

Yeah those air fresheners = fail... they were awkward inside the vents...

As far as putting lights behind the grill, I dont think you really lose any light if you are worried about that, it blocks so little, the only way I can tell they are behind the grill is if I pull up to a wall or garage door or something then u can see the pattern all the way out at the edge of the light.

w/e you do just post some pics when its done,

Zman, I went with some 55w 4x2's in the valance for now, they were a lot cheaper than the Hella's I want to put behind the grill. The wiring was a ton easier than I thought thanks to your help. I will add the Hella's behind the grill when I can talk my financial advisor (my wife) into more money. within the past 2 months I have put on a new exhaust, new grill, new headlights/corners and bulbs, and new taillights. Here are some pictures...

Up here 70 is hot, we usually see 75 for highs in the summer. Low in th winter is around 20-25 below . That's why I have a block heater and a remote start, no jumping into a cold truck!!

Looking good! My 100W 6" lights were only like 16 bucks each at walmart. I dont think they carry them all the time, I think I just got lucky.
Nice Truck
