Cutting Off

I have an 87 F150 that has recently started to just cut off. If I drive it for more than about 15 miles it will just die. If I let it sit for about half an hour it will run again for another 15 miles. Any ideas why? I have been it might have something to do with the coil.
Thanks for any help.

Yep, the ignition coils can sometimes do this when they're on their way out. They'll heat up and malfunction then cool off and run correctly again 'til they get hot. First thing is to get those codes pulled.

Welcome to the site brother

87 model would have the dizzy mounted TFI, wouldn't it? Those were most prone to the heating problem, simply because of location. Moving to massive heatsinks on the fender helped, but didn't eliminate the problem, apparently. Albeit, I'm still running on the original in my '92.
