"Tune up?"

Is there such a thing for these engines?

Change the oil. Clean the CDR valve. Change oil, air, and fuel filters.
The air filter is usually the one that makes the biggest difference in power and MPG.

I will second the CHANGE the air filter. Makes a BIG differance. I've seen the referance to a "CDR" valve. Where is it and what does it look like?

If its non turbo, the CDR is located under the rear of the air filter. You have to take the whole air cleaner assembly to get to it. It looks about the size of a tuna can.

THANK YOU!! I called a Diesel/turbo/electrical specialty shop after I posted the question earlier and asked the guy I know that works there what is a "CDR"? He had no idea, in fact he asked a coworker that just went to school on Diesels if he knew what I was talking about and he had no idea. Again THANK YOU!!
