Brake bleeding

Just replaced calipers on front of my '96 7.3. As far as bleeding, I read you should do Right Rear, Left Rear, ABS Valve, Right Front, Left Front. My question is, is the RABS valve the one on the rear axle, with the two left and right brake lines going to the rear cylinders? It has what appears to be a bigger bleeder on it.....and a vent hose.

You do not have to do the RABS valve. But if you only did front you only have to bleed the front. But bleed the ones furthest away from the master 1st. So yes RR, LR, RF, LF. You know the propper way to bleed? Have a buddy pump the pedal with the truck off, like 10 times or so, have him hold it while you open the bleeder, before the fluid stops close the bleeder. Do a few times to each side, and then run the truck and try it out.

That line on the rear axle with the hose on it is not a bleader it is the rear axle vent it just holds down the "T" fitting for the rear lines.
The RABS valve is under the drivers door follow the lines from the master cyl they go down to the valve.

I always heard you needed to bleed the brakes with the motor running as to not take a chance on busting the diaphram in the brake booster. I have done it both ways with no problems though.

Yes, you have to bleed the ABS valve, or you'll be back here asking why your brakes are so soft. No, you don't have to have the engine running.
