It wouldn't be more reactive cause a 7.3 super duty wouldn't be backed down my a boat ramp in the first place :P. The torque of those 7.3's was wonderful. The lightening seems better shape, but i think you might be overpaying a lil on that 00. There's some nice 03 F-250 King Ranch diesel crew cabs on my ford lot for only 17g. So 10g for something that old seems a little pricey.
The seller of the Lightning wouldn't budge on his price so I backed off of it. I need to see what I can do as far as salvaging my poor 'ol '92 f-150 and possibly keeping it or selling it off. It's a shame, fresh 351 & tranny + a brand new hurst shifter to play with... Sigh
It'd be nice to find a lightning within a descent price range near springfield mo....
That's happened before though..... The fix last time was just to stand on it until it caught traction. I think that fix would be a little more reactive with a lightning, don't you think?
You're kidding, right?
Stay away from a Lightning. You're not ready yet.
That's not how to drive on a boat launch.
20 MPG HWY here.
2001 w/3.73s
Sniper tuned.

20mpg, that's pretty good... oh, and I'm sorry dad, I'll be sure and be more careful next time I'm out messing around on the boat ramp. A guy gets a gear swap and a electronic tune and suddenly he can tell you what and how to drive? I don't think so... Let's keep these forums positive and informative.
wow, im jealous. my trip to FL in december netted a best of 14.22 mpg highway....averaging 13.25-13.4 mpg on the rest of the tanks. 70-80 mph, but no real aggressive driving. 3.73's as well. granted i have 4wd as well, but it was not in use. i have a dyno-tune this saturday, and im going to have him check the a/f at cruising speeds.....it's dead on at wot. i'm hoping this will help when i drive back down next week.

You got me there, We shouldn't mention the things we did behind the wheel when we were 16. Or maybe we should open up a new thread titled "stupid $#!+ from younger years" I'm sure you wouldn't have anything to add to that thread would you S.A.L.? Are there any users with less than 10 posts that don't randomly search for threads to trash talk? When 25% of your posts are spent trash talking, one might want to re-think his reason for being a member. Thank you again for your input on the 20mpg....
My stock 03 L averaged 14mpg and on trips i would see 17. My 01 is built and I usually see 15mpg mixed driving if my right foot doesn't get carried away. Also, as far as price on a L goes, you wont see many for less than 13k. Actually you wont see many for 13k period.
