What goes here?

I know I'm suppose to use the topic in the title, but since I can figure out what to call it, it gets a vague title. Anyway. I got my wiring harness from Centech a few weeks ago (quality stuff!) and it finally warmed up enough to do a little bit. I'm trying to find a nice place to mount my fuse panel and noticed an access cover behing the e-brake lever and wondered what it was for. I took my off and only found a few leafs and mud. What is suppose to go here?

My truck did come with a/c. I have the factory option a/c. I've never seen a fresh air vent on the driver's side.

Thanks guys. I'll go with that. I never actually thought of mounting my fuse panel there, just curious to see what it was.

Just add to your terminology

That area is called the kick panel.

The fresh air vent had a slide control for opening and closing it.

So what is wrong with just mounting the fuse box in the original spot ?

There's nothing wrong with putting it in the origional spot. Actually, I did put it in the origional spot. I even got a little wiring done.

I put mine in the original spot or at least as close as possible. Makes everything easy.

I didn't put the cover on yet, but the that is pretty much the finish product with the wiring. There are extra circuits which is good. The cover on, will clean it up better. I am happy with it. Kind of a challenge to run the wires with efficiency, but there is a good length of wire to work with.

Find it weird there isn't a grommet or something like that for wires to exit the panel.

My 75 f100 4X4 had factory A/C and it had that panel down on the drivers side. I had an engine fire and it burned up my A/C stuff not to mention the wiring. Living in MN I didn't need the A/C. So I converted to just a heater and fresh air vents. Just so you know the one with a slide will bolt right in that spot if you ever converted it over. I also converted to an after market fuse box. Nice to have new wiring.

Where did you get you Centec kit from? I can't find anyone who carries them. Also, what kit did you get ? On their website they have only 1 Ford kit that goes from 1960 and newer. Is that the one you got?
