brake question/problem...

im currently up in rhode island and after we had a night were it hit -7 degrees, engine started fine, but now about half the times i brake i hear and feel a pop from underneath the truck. i can feel it vibrate in the bottom of the truck and it feels to be right under my feet. it started right after the temp dropped, i don't know where to start to check for brake problems. however one good thing came of this...my truck started fine in -7 without being plugged in!

forgot to put this in the last one...when i brake i don't loose any pressure...it makes a pop sound and the brake feels hard right before it "pops"...ive been trying to take it easy on the brake...but its really hard up here with all the traffic lights and the wonderful drivers of Rhode Island.

i noticed when it gets bellow 0 things begin to make more noise..it sounds like the bushings are froze stiff and they shrink when that cold making a loose fit.. at least that is how i figured it.. see if it goes away on a warmer day...

Like Ron said, nothing works or sounds good when it is that cold. If they got wet, you you could have something frozen. No fluids work well with temps like that. Go with the EMS saying "it ain't dead until it's warm and dead".

alrighty...i inspected everything yesterday and it turned out when the brake was depressed the powersteering fluid was being sucked up below the inlet resulting in air going through the tube. its hooked to the brake system and that must have been the air i heard going through the pump and the lines. i bought powersteering fluid with leak stopper in it...and topped off the brake fluid and sat in the drive way and depressed the brake for 5 minutes, cut the wheel hard left and hard right, and then depressed the brake more. checked the fluid, topped off the powersteering with a little more and was done. i don't have a pop no more...
