An issue regarded as potentially debatable, but no longer practically applicable. Although the idea may still be worth debating and exploring academically, and such a discussion may be useful for for addressing similar issues in the future, the idea has been rendered irrelevant for the present issue.

All of us who come on this site have an automotive passion that we share. Along with that passion comes an assortment of opinions that we have formed. Quite often there will be statements that rub a person the wrong way ( hell its even happened to me a time or two!!! 
). I agree with what you say about being hard to judge someone's tone through the keyboard/monitor. Hopefully everyone will have a chance to recalibrate and keep making this one of the chapters on here that others envy due to the amount of lively activity that we have.
