Very new to Diesel. What is HPOP, been reading alot of posts that refer to this.
It uses crankcase oil?
It has it's own reservoir? Haven't noticed that. Where is it located?
HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump) "Short answer" The reservior is located in the front of the engine valley (rectangle in shape) with the actual pump attached to the bottom rear of the reservior. The engine or Low Pressure Oil Pump pump crankcase oil into the reservior then the HPOP pumps it at high pressure (3000 psi) through the oil galleries in the heads to the injectors. This high pressure oil is what fires the injectors and pushes the fuel into the cylinder.
