electrical alternator issues

I did feel the alternator in the morrning befor running it, it was dead cold and the out side air was about -6, I just felt the bottom of it due to the location. Im going to run it today and see what happens I hate having to ask for boost

in temps like that it will never get warm to teh touch because it cannot have that much of a short in it , a simple way to eliminate teh altenator is to find the charge cable that runs from the alternator to the starter solenoid and disconnect it at night , and see if the batteries are dead teh next morning however of you leave all of teh wires disconnected from teh solenoid it will also eliminate the whole truck from teh batteries , in the darke you can touch each of the wires to the battery supply wire at the solenoid and see if any of them have a slight spark , sorry about the spelling i always speel THE incorrectly
