I've got a 2003 F150 with a factory 6 disk cd changer and plan on installing an amp and sub box. What is the best way to connect the amp to the stereo. I don't plan on connecting the amp to any other speakers only the box with sub. What is the easiest way to do this.

Blackmagick is correct. The man said he wants to add a sub and amp to his factory head. That right there says he dose not need high end stuff. If it were my truck and I just wanted some more low end I'd use an amplified sub with speacker level inputs. If that's not enough bass he'll want to scrap the factory head until and build from there.
As far as cheap amps. I just removed the 500 watt Targa {remember them} from my 2001 that I traded in. That amp was bought in '93 and has been installed in three trucks. Was it the loudest or cleanest amp? no, did it preform like expected for 15 years? You bet!!! It out lived two two 12" solo-barics.
