2004 Expedition stereo

I want to replace a factory stereo with a Pioneer unit. Our 2004 Expedition has the Mach Audio system with the in dash 6 CD changer stereo, no navi. The Expedition has 4 speakers and a sub in the back. The sub is powered by an amp in the back and I guess the amp powers the other speakers.

Crutchfield says the Pioneer I'm looking at will connect to the factory harness with their wiring kit with no problems.

What do you guys think? Will an aftermarket radio installed with an adapter kit work with my system? Will the sub and amp, etc. still work?

I am looking to upgrade the radio in my 2004 Expedition too. What model did you get and are you happy with the sound?
