Do you think the 00 brake light switch not compatible with my 99 ford expedition?
The 99 and 00 Expeditions use the same Motorcraft switch. Who knows about what AutoZone's system says...

When i went to auto zone they show me a different brake light switch. The 99 brake light switch looks alot different from 00. i'm confuse now.
Confusion is common in AutoZone stores.

Check fuses F13 & F15 in the under dash panel.

Check the adjustment of the brake pedal switch to verify the switch actually is "unmade" when the pedal is released and is "made" when the pedal is depressed. Just listen for the "click".

Shifting into park/ CANT

Hello, hope u can hellp me with my problem. I have been force shifting my 98 Expedition into park to turn it on.

At first not so much , then got to be alot more work involved, and now finally wont start cause it wont go into park, even wen i go under the truck and ficically move the shifter.

It wouldnt start in neutral either, after reading forums after forums I found things to try and executed them, this is what I have tryed so far.

1: re screwd the gold bolts under dash to the shifter bracket , like on the YOU-TUBE video that come loose after time
(ford ever heard of LOCK-TITE).

2: Changed the celinoid under dash that presess in wen in park, and traced the shifter cable down to the trany checking for brakes or detachedments. (nothing ) I can see it move with help from some one else moving it from inside.

3:All fusess look good.

I will try what you talk about in this forum but dont sound like my problem, exept you sayed shifting mechanisms will be inpared truck wont start.

I still cant turn the truck on after all the work not even by force shifting it, I even had to rock roll it into park the last time before it would'nt start anymore .

Can You help with any know how, or any one else that migth read this /what am I missing .

Have you disconnected the shifter cable to see if it slides back and forth easily? If the cable is okay then you're probably looking at a bad neutral safety switch located down on the tranny.
