I bought a F350 2008 and I need to send this truck to Costa Rica, but there is no ultra low sulfur diesel in Costa Rica, so I need to take off the DPF and all that stuff. (there is no emission regulations in there) I have the truck in the dealer in California waiting to see what to do with this problem.
Thanks for any help.

Not to be a butt, but why not find out before purchase?

It is rumored FORD has the ability or should I say, has a program to Flash the ECM for areas without ULSD that also allows removal of the DPF.
Personally I would think they have to have that ability, as all areas of the world are not forced to use the ULS diesel.
the dealer said, they know about that, but factory will not sell that part to them, even if the car is going out of the country. the part has to be ordered by a dealer outside the US. so I call the Ford dealer in Costa Rica and the don't have an idea of what a F350 08 looks like!! so they couldn't find that part! so thats why i'm looking for something else.
Take all the part numbers you need with you to Costa Rica. Go to the Ford dealer there and explain to him how much money he can make if he sets up an internet site to sell his Ford parts.
the factory don't even give the part number to the dealer here in the US! well at the end, I bought today the tuner from Spartan Diesel! I hope it works ok! I know of some people from Costa Rica that have their trucks in miami waiting with the same problem. I'm going to try it in my truck and if it works, I could get some extra cash!!
