460 oil pump
I have a 1966 ford f-100 with a early 460.The other day the oil pump seized causing the distributor gear to break-is this a common problem?
Also I need a oil pump-should I go stock or high volume? I had a very knowledgable mechanic tell me for the street use a stock as the high volume will cause bearing erosion. Help!

460 oil pump
Nit common on the oil pump lock-up, but it can happen. I had it happen to me in a 71 351C before. A high volume pump is fine. Turcks have a 6 qt. capacity and usually don't turn much over 5000rpm, so there is little chance of sucking the pan dry.
