460 horsepower question
Does anybody know how much horsepower one can get out of a 77 460? How much have people gotten before? I want a fast mean truck.

If you really build it and keep it streetable (power 1500-6500) I'd say you could get about 450hp pretty easy.

460 horsepower question
Hi. I just recently built a 460 for my 78. [link:www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&userid=45&albumid=46|Click here] for engine specs. I think total cost is around $4000. Engine should be around 500hp/560tq as well. I'll find out when I have it dynoed next month.

Near the bottom of this page is an Excel spreadsheet listing parts, manufacturers, vendors, part numbers and costs, hard parts and machine shop work, for a 500hp 460 with Edelbrock aluminum heads for under $5k.

My desktop dyno i am just shy of 600hp, but that is a 3000 stall
and the lumpest cam, moter sport heads.
