after cleaning out the IAC and TB on my 89 250 efi auto it runs/idles much better but when i disconnect the IAC it stalls immediately...i havent checked for codes since cleaning bc it doesnt stall when driving anymore and if i still get a continuous memory code 63 TPS V below min and 34 EGR i will remove the TB so i can either adjust the TPS from .6V to 1V or replace since it is impossible to reach the screws since the TB is sideways...then i can thoroughly clean the TB and possibly replace the IAC and install the IAC spacer that apparantly will solve my IAC clogging problems...why does the TB have coolant running through it and is it advantageous to disconnect it?
i have two other 460 that are mounted horizontally that dont have coolant lines...thought it was to heat the incoming air which is just as useless as defrosting the throttle blades...by the time the coolant gets hot enough the engine compartment is probably just as warm
i checked for codes again and this time got a continuous memeory code 31 EGR/EVP/EVR? and it is still running poorly...could a malfunction in the egr system be causing my problems?
is there a common known solution for code 31? i recently checked that the valve and position sensor were working and think the egr valve regulator is shot
