Haynes says to disconnect the wire and take out the 2 screws. Check the O-ring before replacing. Spray the pintle with carb cleaner and and let dry.
I'm assuming the O-ring is in the round part that has the 2 screws.....that connects to the base part which bolts to the TB. Is that also where the "pintle" is?
Chiltons says to remove the 2 bolts from the side of the TB, remove the entire assembly and to replace the TB gasket when reinstalling. Nothing about O-ring or pintle.
The IAC has 2 parts really, the control valve which is the part bolted on the TB, and the valve actuator which is the part attached to the valve with 2 small screws and has the electrical connection. The valve is the part that gets gummed up and needs to be cleaned, but you'll need to remove the actuator from the valve or you won't be able to tell when the valve is moving freely. Take the assembly off, disassemble, liberally apply carb cleaner and work the valve until it moves freely.
