Can Anyone Tell Me How Many Oxygen Sensors Are On This Model, Their Location And Bosch Part Numbers. Auto Partrs Stores Only Show 2 And The 2 I Bought Don't Match The Oem.
If I remember correctly there is only 2 of them, but are you sure that's your problem. Sometimes when the Mass Airflow Sensors get dirty and it will send the wrong code to the computer triggering your engine light to come on. Before you put new sensors on it, try cleaning MAF sensor first. Be careful not to hit it with hard spray, meaning back the can up from the sensor so you don't damage it, and call a Ford dealer and get the coreect part if that is what you need. Good luck
There are 4--2 are pre cat and 2 are post cat. They have different numbers between the fronts and rears but I don't remember them offhand. If you had a CEL come on and it said it was O2 sensors it was most likely the rears that threw it but the codes will tell you exactly which ones they are.
i think there are 4 o2 sensors on the 4.2L and the 4.6L are the same i beleive. i have a bunch of oem o2 sensors for those engines. i'll have to do some diggin' for them. and i'll post the part #'s as soon as i find them. i have bunch of oe parts i'd been hangin' onto that i should get rid of. they will have a ford part#. still in the package never used.
i also have a set of injectors for a 97 4.6l v8 they are used. the color is yellow.
Usually, unless the heater in the O2 sensors goes bad, they don't fail very often. It's usually something else causing the code.
Can you post the actual codes here to verify?
Mine was the sensors. On the front one the plug was corroded. One broken pin.
Ford has replacement plug kits. On the other the heater was burned out.
No more idiot lights thankfully.
