Don't know if it was stock, but I have an Edelbrock #1411, 750 cfm that runs awesome. This is a little bigger than usual, but I run the truck hard towing so I want the extra power. Many guys run a 600cfm or 650 cfm. Great power and low end.
I like the edelbrock because of it's simplicity and performance. Bolted it on and started it up. Simple tuning, simple metering rod changes. If you want to run a high reving race truck, then Holly is the way to go.
You will also need a manifold if you change to 4bbl. I hear the Edelbrock manifolds are a great combo with the carb. Mine is the stock minifold.
I run an Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel on my stock 460 and have had no problems. When the engine warms up you can punch the accelerator and it is awesome. I recommend Edelbrock products because of their simplicity and durability.
I've never seen a 460 with a 2bbl carb. Some of the old 429's had 2bbl's but the 460's always had a 4bbl as far as I know. Should have had a 600cfm 4bbl stock.
