In response to 3000 FPS the only problem here is that in the winter we have such a WIDE range of temps for example the other day the high was bout 27 and the low was 11 the next day it was 39 and 22 yesterday was 49 last night was not much lower mayb 40 today is the same near 50... i just went and checked the two modules you mentioned too no visible corrosion or bad connection but the ficm is also kinda hard to see the connections. Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the oil pressure have somethin to do with the operation of the fuel injectors... i'm gettin good oil pressure on my instrument cluster when i'm cranking the the thing so does that rule out an oil pump problem?
Ok so truck still wont start i've aked around here a bit i've heard that a high pressure oil pump is common repair on these 6.0's anyone have any experience with oil pump goin out on 6.0 like if so what symptoms were present?
Usually when there is a leak and the 05 is prone to this the engine will start when it is cold and the oil is thick and the Injector pressure sensor can see enouph PSI. When the truck is hot the oil is thin the truck will not start because it cannot get enough PSI. The injector pressure regulator which regulates the oil pressure for the injectors could be bad or the injector pressure sensor. Also the HPOP is what is pumping the oil to get the high oil pressure that is needed. Because you described your problem as being so intermittant I thought possible electrical but it could be one of the sensors as well. You may have to take it to a dealer to run diagnostics on it to find which one it is. Oh one more thing the (HPOP) high pressure oil pump is not the same pump for your engine oil pressure.
yea its still under warranty thats what i'm lookin at doin its just hard to find a good mechanic thats not booked for weeks and i apreciate the info on the oil pump i wasn't sure whether or not the gauge reading fine would rule out the high pressure oil pump as a problem and yea i thought the problem bein intermittent was odd too but now its not starting at all.... i know a good mechanic two towns over that can check it out this week but i really appreciate the help i'll let yall kno what the verdict is jus changed my fuel filters and again who knows mayb i did have some bad fuel and it ruined my filters...(one can hope for the smallest of problems right haha).....
ok guys so got some news bout my truck i chnged fuel filters they looked pretty horrid even tho they were fairly new got most of the fuel outta my truck that i could still wouldnt start havent tried it in a couple days just went out to give it one last shot before takin it to the dealer tuesday and it started right up its been sittin cold lol i dunno i think it has a brain of its own imma warm it up for a few minutes then drive it around for a few see if anythin is funny i'm still takin it to the mechanic monday he's smarter than i am haha
