Hello,
My questions are a little different than the ones previously asked. I have a 94 F350 460 2wd/DRW, crew cab, E4OD, and I'm curious about a couple things. Has anyone tried the MAC header set-up? They like Hedman do not list a header for 94-97 setups. Is this because of the later slip-on barrel converter that Ford started using? I think from 88-93 Ford used a 4-bolt oval flange to connect the Y-pipe to the converter or rest of the system. I am sure I'm gonna hear about the Thorley and L&L set-ups, I just find them a little pricey. The L&L's are roughly like 350-400 I think and that is not a coated header or a Y-pipe, the Thorley set-up by the time you get it coated is almost 900. I live in Kentucky and I'm not concerned with removing the cat or the smog pump, please no references to cancer causing benzyne. What I am inclined to do at this point is buy the Hedman set-up, I think they will fit, although they do not list them for this year, coat them and make my own Y-pipe or maybe run true duals. If anyone has any information about this, like well you cant do that cause of this, etc... Please write back and educate me.
I to have a 1994 F-250 with a 460 I found a set of Hooker Supercomp headers from Summit racing for our trucks. They have the black painted versions for under $400 and the ceramic coated ones for $570. I have heard good things about Hooker headers. They don't come with any type of Y-pipe which is fine if you are going to redo the whole system and run duals. hope this helps
