complete cluster go off

i have a 99 f350 4x4 7.3td i just bought a couple of weeks ago and the gauges,tack and speedo goes off and if i tap the dash it comes back on and then sometimes goes off again. looks like a loose connection somewhere....anybody else have this problem?...where should i look for this connection?

IMO your truck is too new for a corroded Printed cvircuit problem so I think it is a ground wire problem.,

Remove the cluster to find out.

In the 70/80's Ford used the dash brace to attach ground wires

thanks i will have to try that...is all the gauges run off a main plug that operates this??

I would still take it apart and check all the connections, but be aware your truck has a computer network, and the cluster has a microprocessor that communicates most of the gauge and indicator info on this network.
