My uncle happened into a 4" ss exhaust w/ straight pipe that he is looking to put on his 01 CCSB. The exhaust is for an Ex not a pickup.
THE QUESTION - Is it possible to put the Ex exhaust on a pickup? What would need to be changed? I have a MIG welder and TIG welder if we do need to change some hanger locations. Are all the bends the same?
He will be buying a muffler for the exhaust too. BTW does anybody want to trade a muffler delete pipe for a muffler as long as I have a captive audience.
i dont think there would be a big diference since EX is on the same frame as a pickup but dont know if its CCLB or CCSB. and turbo is placed the same way so DP and the rest should be ok, maybe Hump over the axle is a little diferent? but im positive is about the same, you might have to cust it somehere since you putting it on a what i think shorter frame.
anyways.....why not call MFG of the exhaust and just ask them?
The wheelbase of an excursion is 137", that of a regular cab long bed which is also 137". A supercab short bed is 142", (now im recalling off memory), a super cab long bed is 156", a crew cab short bed is 162" (i believe), and a CCLB is 172". Its a substantial difference, about 2 feet of pipe and two accuseal clamps in the middle somewhere should make it work. The downpipe, mid pipe and tailpipe assy's are all the same, it's just the difference in the length of pipe in front of the muffler is.
Thanks Guys,
From what I saw when I installed my system it seemed like it would bolt right up. I thought the Ex frame was a reg cab long bed frame as well. With all the different combos of pipes that came with mine I am sure there would be something to work. If you had to change the way it fabbed up you could always cut some off the midpipe so the hangers in front of the muffler would line up. Come to think of it!!!! If there needed to be a floating hanger I have a hanger/crappy clamp leftover from my install along with two or three reg crappy clamps.
We were talking about calling the mfg, but I had just gotten off the phone with him to tell him to go to Autozone and he didnt know it off hand.
