can you paint chrome

I was just wondering is it possible to paint chrome.I'm planning to paint my front bumper on my 77 ford but its chrome and i don't want it flaking off later.

Oh another thing how you think it would look with the bumper gloss black, heres a pic of my truck.

Yes very easily, just get some DuPont 222S and follow the directions and you'll be fine

As long as you clean and sand the chrome you should be able to prime/paint it with no problem. I have a bumper for my 54 GMC that was painted this way and it's holding up fine.

I painted a bumper on a customers 66 mustang, all I did was sandblast it to remove the shine then epoxy primed, then painted it the color of the car, did it last year, no peeling problems so far.
