Resently my truck started making a metal on metal squealing noise. the noise is only noticeable while accelerating. i checked tall the heat shield and none of them are loose. i am wondering if it is the clutch... not sure. any help would be appreciated. the truck is a 92 f250 4x4 5sp 7.3 idi non turbo...
check your engine cooling fan clutch and/or water pump bearings had the same problem in my 93 idi turbo couldn't figure it out finally I had a buddy start hittin the throttle while I listened in the engine bay. also sound travels very well through metal it may not sound like it's coming from the engine but it might be my advice is go get yourself a mechanics stethoscope they help trust me
