Vin number help
A VIN # is a "Vehicle Identification Number"
Do you really mean the Casting numbers on the engine?
or
Do you mean, is there a number on the engine that matches the VIN # on the truck ?

Vin number help
The casting number is located on the passenger side of the engine block towards the rear by the starter. Should be something like C9ve, Dove-A, D1VE. Let us know what you have.

That's correct Just above the starter on the right side of the block.
It will probably be
D2VE-
or
D3VE-6015-A(??)
This is just a basically a casting /design number
There should also be a Date casting number in between two marks * *
such as * 3C27 *
Look for this too.
