There are a ton of options if you decide to go with the camo. The most common that I see is the standard woodland. I always said that one day I would get a beater 4X4 and paint it in camo. I would want to do something a little different though. Like the Marines' Marpat digital camo, the desert pattern (since it would be fun and not functional for me). It would be a painstaking process on a vehicle but I think it would be worth it in the end. Whatever pattern you choose, MAKE STENCILS! You definately want a uniform pattern. Otherwise it will look sloppy, which is fine if it is functional camouflage, but Im sure you want it to look good on the street too. My friends dad did his Blazer in a snow camo which was very sharp. He is also a tattoo artist so he was able to do about as good a job as one could do with a rattle can IMHO.
There are some awsome trucks in the gallery... Gave me alot of ideas...Then I went down to my friend Allen's bodyshop (Clear Creek Collision Center, Denver CO) and realized that there are millions of colors to chose from. New problem!!! so many awsome color schemes !!! I suggest a trip to your body shop and look at their color books. Also ask about the color flips and you will be amazed at the different color within color. I went with a 2 tone silver and gunmetal with a brownish flip. It's being painted now. I can't wait its like Christmas again!!!
The only thing about the two tone paint job is the lower race track trim is so expensive in good shape used and noone reproduces it to my knowledge.
IMHO red and white two tone is the nicest color combo on 73-79 trucks.
EDIT
I also love the Dark green and silver two tone. I cant remember fords color name
Lower race track can be bought from LMC truck .... but your right all pieces of the lower track will cost you $750 to replace individually. You can buy the complete set for $600. That's crazy. I only needed to buy one piece for mine and that was $70.
You can buy flat stainless steel kit for like $100 or so and that looks pretty hot !!! If I had to replace more than a few pieces that is the way I'd go.
I was looking at what it would cost to get a set of upper and lower race track molding plus, the wheel wells. If you were to buy all that it would cost over $1300.
I think I need to get an alarm for my truck just to protect those moldings.

Thats why I didnt two tone my 79 F150. The cost was way over budget. Even if you had some real nice used stuff reanodized you would be in the $1000 plus neighborhood.
