I've got my expy doing quite a bit of towing now (6000lb every week or a lil more) and I'm wondering if it's worth going to efans. I don't realy notice any temp problems because my towing is at relatively good speeds (55mph +) so I'm just wondering if it's worth getting rid of that horrible idle cooling and going the electric route. i'll soon be upgrading the alternator to a 200amp model to handle some more equipment, the truck will be getting a new 1100cca battery plus two deep cycles. How are efans for idle periods in the summer? I want as much cooling power as I'm getting with the clutch fan.
The biggest difference I noticed with the e-fans is in throttle response. Not having to to rotate that fan up to speed seems to have helped in that area. The adjustablilty of when they turn on is a nice feature. Living in Minnesota I havent heard them run for months with the cold weather. For me with all of the other mods I have done it was worthwhile.
I'm looking at the dual 16" Troyer Performance kit. At only 429$ seems like the perfect combo to go with the K&N 77 series metal cold air intake kit, and Gibson side swept single outlet cat back exhaust.
