Ordered my stacks

Ok Stackers.. I got my 6x36" Miter Cut Grand Rock kit ordered.. So the final comes to be... What do I do bout the water.. Do I drill a hole in the elbow or do I say forget it? What about rust.. Has anyone noticed any rust..

If the big boys with Diesels can run straight up stacks with no caps.. Then I'm sure we can lol..

Should I put a hole in the elbow, how big should it be so it don't go tick tick tick with exhaust lol

congrats on the stacks.. should look good on your truck..keep in mind the big truck has flex pipes where water can drain..also they run long and hard enough to blow out or evaporate the water out..

Glad to hear you finally did it, i wondered when you would. Jeremy has a good idea going. On the clamp that connects the lowest point, (use an accu-seal for this) point the tightening-side of the clamp downward, and do not fully tighten it to seal. The clamp will allow just a small bit of air escape. BTW post turbo exhaust leaks don't really make a tick sound due to the fact it's not under pressure.

Thanks guys... I'll have flex pipe.. The Grand Rock Kit that I got has T in the bed that the stack pieces go to.. Then it goes through the bed to a 90* elbow that I connect a 12" flex pipe to link it to my exhaust underneath.

6 liters sound awesom-er with stacks. I have one buddy with 6" miters and one with 7" miters. They sound amazing.

I'll agree with you there, our straight-piped 6 leaker sounds amazing (when it runs).

Doesn't sound like all hell's breaking loose like my truck !

if you have the flex pipe and its under the truck laying flat with the truck... you should be ok..like Kris said..you can drill a 1/8 " hole too..no one will ever know..

Where should I drill the 1/8" hole? should it be past the flex on the bottom of the exhaust piping going to the downpipe? The way my kit is, goes 90* Elbow -> Flex Pipe -> Underbody Exhaust to Downpipe.. It's a 12" section of flex that has to be straight, not bent..

i would find the lowest point...or make the lowest point right under the bed where water is going to puddle up and drill the hole there..the further back the better..but water willl go to the lowest point by nature,,

thats where i would do it..if the kit will let you make that the lowest point. (i dont have stacks..but drive a Pete with dual 7"stacks) if the kit wont let you..then you got no choice to find the lowest point and drill.. just for kicks..when you get the kit...run some water through it and see how fast water comes out the sides of the flex pipe...you may find you wont need a hole

Make the elbow the lowest point. Aim it up with the existing exhaust, then move it about 1/2" lower. Let the flex pipe make up the difference. All the water will go out there.
